Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything else.

STARTING YOUNG

“I wrote my first song when I was nine years old. It was my cousin, sister, and I performing it in front of our families every chance we got. It was called, “Heartbreaker. We were six, seven, and nine. What did we know about heartbreak? It makes me laugh to this day. But that was the start!”

“I realized as the years went on just how much I loved songwriting and being able to express myself in that way. I could say whatever I wanted to. It was like therapy. Especially as a teen. I started working with a keyboard around 11 and began writing songs with the keyboard. I desperately wanted to learn guitar so I could accompany myself better. I would come home from high school, get my homework done, and immediately lock myself in my room for hours on end teaching myself guitar. I would work with a melody in my head and try to replicate it on the guitar. Eventually, I figured out which strings make which chords and the songwriting took off. At fifteen, I realized exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”
